The Graduate School provides the option for students to defer their admission up to two (2) semesters from the original entry term. This deferral can happen from the time of application until admission. A student who applied for the Fall semester could be deferred as late as the Summer semester of that same academic year. If a student requires a deferral beyond those two semesters they must reapply to their program of interest.
Exceptions: A student who is experiencing extraordinary circumstances which are beyond their control may request a deferral beyond the above guidelines. Please use the Extraordinary Deferral Request Service Request if that is the case.
