Job Position Information
The LSU ITS Service Desk, located on campus in the Frey Computing Services Building and the first floor of the LSU Library, has multiple positions open for student workers. The student workers will be trained to provide first-line technical support for the campus community via telephone, face-to-face interaction, and remote chat sessions. Student workers will also be trained on how to provide customer service support at our printing labs on campus located in both the LSU Library and Patrick F. Taylor Hall. One of our main goals is to provide excellent customer service to ensure the highest possible level of satisfaction. We are looking for students who demonstrate a positive attitude, clear communication, and willingness to learn. You will be provided a flexible work schedule - working before, between, and after class - and ample training to be successful in this position. The aim of this position is to assist the Service Desk while providing an opportunity for students to develop critical professional skills in an IT environment often needed to succeed in internships or full time positions.
- This is not a seasonal/summer-only job.
Qualifications:
- Customer service background preferred, but not required.
- Comfortable working on, researching, and resolving issues on computers, printers and other related technologies.
- Must be in good academic standing with the University and be enrolled as an LSU student.
- Can work a minimum of 15 hours during a semester.
- Students may work up to 20 hours or 25 hours a week with approval.
- Interested in working during the winter or summer breaks.
- Students may work up to full time during winter and summer breaks.
- Willing to have a flexible schedule each week depending on your availability and needs of the Service Desk.
