This request initiates an appeal for regular admission for an international student who below graduate school standards. International students cannot receive a visa under probationary admission so they require a petition to be allowed to come in under regular admission. For this appeal please attach a letter of support form faculty explaining why the student would do well in graduate study. Together with the faculty letter, the student must prepare a letter explaining their low GPA and why they would do well in graduate study. Together with application files these letters will be used to determine the appeal. The appeal is processed by the office of the Dean at the graduate school. The appropriate graduate admissions officer will inform the faculty and student of the result of the appeal.
