This service is to request an appeal for a student denied by the graduate school due to low GPA. The appeal requires a faculty member for the department to sponsor a student and to provide documentation for the change. The documentation is part of the application for the student and two letters. The first is a letter from the student explaining their academic GPA, why it is under the Graduate School standard, and why the student believes they can be successful in graduate study. Together with this letter each request also requires a letter from faculty in the department stating why the faculty thinks this student can be successful despite the low GPA. The application materials and the letters will be reviewed by the office of the Dean at LSU and a decision will be made. The graduate admissions officer will inform the faculty of the final decision.
