Body

Students and their dependents are required to have a valid travel signature on their I-20 (F-1 students) or DS-2019 (J-1 students) for re-entry to the U.S. ISS advisors are able to sign I-20s or DS-2019s issued by LSU for travel if the student is enrolled full-time for the next semester or has the intent to enroll full-time in the next semester.

Travel Signature Validity

Check your most recent I-20 or DS-2019 for the current travel signature. Travel signature are valid for one year for F-1/J-1 students.

I-20 Travel Endorsement is on page 2

J-1 Travel Validation is at bottom of page 1

How to get a Travel Signature

Students can obtain a travel signature by:

  1. Submitting a request in the iTiger Portal.
  2. Attending an in-person travel signature event hosted by ISS before the end of the semester. Students must bring their most-recent or LSU-issued DS-2019 or "Continued Attendance" I-20 with them to the even. Date, time, and location of the event is emailed to students.

When should students request a Travel Signature?

Due to ISS processing times, students are encouraged to submit a travel signature request at least two (2) weeks prior to departure from the United States.
