A chosen name is one that a person chooses to use to represent themselves for any number of reasons. It could be a nickname, an Americanized name, or a representation of their gender identity. Regardless of the reason someone decides to go by a name different than their legal name, LSU strives to respect students who do so.
LSU reserves the right to remove a chosen name for any reason, including misrepresentation or the use of inappropriate, offensive or derogatory language.
Students can use their chosen name in several LSU systems and on-campus locations. See below for a list of options for changing your chosen name.
