After an international applicant has been officially and unconditionally admitted to an LSU on-campus degree program, International Student Services will email the students a link to our I-20/DS-2019 Request Form. Students must submit a complete Request Form, which prompts them to provide the required items for our review and determine their eligibility for an LSU I-20/DS-2019.
International Student Services sets deadlines for students to submit their Request Forms to give our office the necessary time to review and process the I-20/DS-2019. These deadlines also allow students to . . .
- Provide additional information/documentation that may have been missing or insufficient to proceed with their request. (We would email the students to inform them of this.)
- Complete the necessary visa application and interview processes with the U.S. Consulate, if applicable.
- Arrive on campus in time for International Student Orientation, required SEVIS reporting with International Student Services, and to complete full-time course enrollment.
The deadlines below are for those individuals who need either:
- An Initial I-20/DS-2019 for the student visa appointment at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate abroad and entry to the U.S.
- A Transfer I-20 to maintain their current F-1 student status in the U.S.
International Student Services will not be able to issue I-20s/DS-2019s for international applicants who have not submitted their complete requests by the following deadlines:

Individuals in other visa types may need to travel outside of the United States to change their visa status and would be subject to the Initial I-20/DS-2019 deadlines above.
